While traveling through Tuscany, I realized that the warmth and the quiet stillness of a simple rural setting is what I desired to capture, not so much on film as in my spirit. Within all of the details and colors surrounding my walk on this earth, the simple things in life, are the ones that have the power to fill me with a sense of wellbeing.
It can be moments shared with a loved one, a quiet walk in the beauty of nature, a warm scented breeze flowing over me, the sounds of trickling water or hearing song birds or a child’s innocent laughter. Each one has the power to slow the heart down to a place of reflection.
I have found that viewing the simplicity of a rural setting or experiencing a peaceful moment, can fill one with a sense of calm, hope, and joy. The memories of peaceful or joyful times is where the mind will take us when we are in need of healing and for that reason, I treasure those kinds of memories more than any possession I have.
The memory of warm sunlit afternoons, cool shade and gentle breezes is what I try to infuse into my paintings. I attempt to do this by the careful and subtle depiction of shadow and light. There can be a mood and a sense of peace created through the depiction of shadow and light that is able to set an atmosphere within a painting that can transport the viewer to a different place and time.
When I have completed a painting and stand back and gaze upon it. What I see, is not my creativity or talent looking back at me, what I see within each stroke of paint on the canvas is the prayers of loved ones who believe in me and desire God to bless me. I see the kind and loving encouraging words of dear friends and I see the power and the ability of a loving God to open doors at will in my life.

In each of my paintings, the brush was held up by many who have contributed in allowing me to be the artist and the man I am today and it is through that understanding that I am blessed.

Arrivederci,
Giorgio

I can't get over the beauty of his artwork. The colors are so intense. The paintings make you wish you were there. As beautiful as they look in the magazine, they are even more spectacular in person. If you ever get a chance to visit his gallery, you will be in for a real treat.

Dearest Lisa: Thank you so much for your wonderful and caring comments. You brought up such great points Lisa. Indeed, his work and his writing brings us back to a simpler time, and perhaps a richer and more fulfilling time. There is just such quiet peace from both his art and his words. Yes, I agree. In person, you can really see the depths and details. I will definitely pass your comments onto Giorgio who will surely appreciate them. Thank you so much. I.K.
